The southern islands of France to visit by boat
Despite the onset of cold weather, at Set Sail we are still in Summer Mood and we have prepared for you a small top 3 of the best islands to discover in the South of France. Enjoy your stay on board Set Sail Airlines.
1 – Porquerolles Island
The island is not the big one in this best-of but you can easily spend three days there and still have a busy day in terms of activities. One of the particularities of the island is that it does not allow cars to circulate, so everyone travels on foot or by bike. IF you are a fan of little hidden coves or even sublime coves, you are in the right place. There is something for everyone: if you are more relaxed you will find beautiful sunny beaches but if you are more adventurous, you can venture into the heart of the island and explore its wild flora and fauna.
2 – Saint Honorat Island
The island is known for being home to a famous Cistercian monastery and a fort, both open to visitors. The island is ideal for swimming at the beach but also for taking walks and discovering the cultural heritage of the island. It is still advisable to take two or three small things to eat because there is only one restaurant on the entire island.
3 – The Ricard Islands
The name of these islands surely tells you something, in fact it was the founder of the famous yellow brand, Paul Ricard, who bought these islands in 1950. The Ricard Islands are made up of two islands:
The island of Bendor is located very close to Bandol. The island is rather small at 7 hectares but is fascinating. There is a lot of beautiful architecture and museums there, Paul Ricard being a lover of art. We can no longer count the personalities and artists who have settled on the island.
The island of Embiez is located near Six Fours Les Plages. In terms of fauna and flora, it is an island that has no equal, nature is preserved and very well maintained and protected. You can go on very beautiful hikes there as well as taste its excellent local wine.
